Wells puts pressure on Castleford to win a major trophy

NEWLY appointed Castleford director of rugby Jon Wells said yesterday that the club will take a step backwards if they fail to win major silverware in 2018.

The Tigers won the Super League leaders’ shield in 2017 for the first time in the club’s history after finishing 10 points clear of nearest rivals Leeds, but lost out to the Rhinos in the Grand Final.

Wells, who will combine the newly created part-time role with his job as a pundit with Sky Sports, says another top table finish would not be good enough on its own this year.
