Multiple casualties reported as fighting in Yemen continues to spread

NUMBERS of casualties were reported in Yemen today as fighting continued to spread across the war-torn country.

Fighting restarted between Houthi forces, who have controlled most of the country including the capital Sanaa since 2014, and the Saudi-backed government in exile days after the warring parties failed to extend a United Nations-brokered ceasefire that expired last week.

At least six government troops and an unknown number of Houthis were killed in fighting on Saturday, while a Houthi landmine killed two children and injured a third on Sunday, according to Arab News.
