IRANIAN special forces have been accused of severely beating 20 prisoners of conscience in West Azerbaijan’s Orumiyeh prison before moving them into solitary confinement.
The prisoners were alleged to have raided their wing after refusing to be transferred to a new high-security wing after being so ordered by the head of the Ministry of Intelligence.
“Some of the beaten prisoners suffered severe head, arm and chest injuries. They were transferred to solitary confinement on the orders of the prison head instead of being taken to the prison infirmary,” a source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network today.
