Heavy shelling in Khartoum disrupts efforts to deliver aid to Sudanese civilians
Smoke rises in Khartoum, Sudan, Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

HEAVY shelling in Sudan’s capital Khartoum disrupted efforts to deliver much-needed aid to trapped civilians today after the United Nations warned of a “humanitarian catastrophe.”

The latest series of ceasefires expired earlier in the day, breaking the fragile quiet.
