USA and Mexico withdraw joint bid for 2027 Women’s World Cup to focus on 2031
THE United States and Mexico have withdrawn their joint bid to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup in order to focus on their proposal for the 2031 competition, it was reported today.
The United States Soccer Federation and the Mexican Football Federation are also calling for the competition to have the same investment as the men’s tournament.
“Hosting a World Cup tournament is a huge undertaking — and having additional time to prepare allows us to maximise its impact across the globe,” said US Soccer president Cindy Parlow Cone.
