A MESSAGE from Richard Leonard, leader of the Scottish Labour Party:

The expansion of the Morning Star in Scotland will be welcomed across the labour movement.

The paper’s contribution to the left, reporting our struggles and shaping our ideas, is invaluable.

It provides a platform for discussion and debate and brings international news, with an eye to the internationalism of our movement.

I began writing for the Star 25 years ago and wrote a regular column for 10 years.

It’s the only paper that can be guaranteed to give working people and organised labour a fair hearing. It is an important part of the labour and socialist tradition with a great history and a great future.

We need real change and Labour will work with our unions and the wider movement to transform society so it works for the many, not the few. We look forward to the Morning Star being there with us.
