PRIME MINISTER Rishi Sunak is being told by Tory MPs who are even more right wing than he is that he should dump policies such as environment-friendly rules on building new houses, it was revealed today.
They also want changes to price caps on energy and for parents to be able to sue schools if they do not agree with the school’s sex education curriculum.
Mr Sunak is expected to outline his policies on November 7 in the King’s Speech, which may be the last before the next general election.
And his MPs are talking up proposals from right-wing think tank Policy Exchange on housing, crime and sex education in schools.
Sir Simon Clarke, a close ally of former PM Liz Truss and former chief secretary to the Treasury said: “UK businesses from the smallest to the largest are constantly telling policy-makers that energy costs and the burden of regulation is inhibiting their ability to grow.”
And back-bench MP Miriam Cates is supporting calls to give parents an “absolute right” to know what children are being taught in schools and a proposal to give parents the right to seek a court injunction to stop schools teaching “age-inappropriate or politicised materials.”
