Striking Livv Housing workers march through Knowsley demanding fair pay
Livv Housing workers march through Knowsley

LIVV Housing workers marched through Knowsley yesterday as part of their ongoing fight for fair wages.

Repair, maintenance and call-centre staff belonging to Unison and Unite first walked out last October.

The workers previously rejected a 5 per cent pay rise as it fails to make a dent after years of real-terms pay cuts.

Negotiations collapsed again earlier this month after the firm presented an unsatisfactory package.

This included an increase that amounted to an extra 76p a week on average in the second year of a two-year deal for Livv employees.

Livv Housing’s CEO Leann Hearne has meanwhile received an 18 per cent pay rise since 2022 — taking home a £253,000 salary in 2024.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Livv Housing is extremely wealthy and can more than afford to put forward a fair pay offer.

“The pressure will not relent until that happens.”

Livv reissued its previous statement, maintaining that it is has “engaged our unions every year in relation to pay awards and changes to terms and conditions, and we’ve always agreed on any proposed changes together.”
