Statement by Jeremy Corbyn on the Mexican election result

This election has seen a shocking 145 candidates and party workers killed with many more disappeared and unaccounted for and I thank the Morning Star for its coverage.
I am pleased that in spite of this violence and intimidation there was a high turnout.
I would like to thank the large number of volunteers from Britain who have been in Mexico as election observers, and this includes colleagues from Justice Mexico Now, Unite, GMB, TSSA, CWU and the NEU.
