Spycop who infiltrated CND was John Kerry

THE spycops inquiry released the cover-name of a snoop who infiltrated the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) yesterday.

“John Kerry” spied on the peaceful campaign group between 1980-4, the Undercover Policing Inquiry revealed.

CND general secretary Kate Hudson said: “There is a long history of state surveillance and activity to curb the impact of CND and other mass movements. While of course we’re opposed to such activities, we have learned how to deal with it.

“We have been fortunate that, as far as we know, no harm has been caused by these attempted interventions within CND.

“But we know that much distress has been caused in other movements and these activities absolutely have to stop.”

The inquiry also named “Vince Miller,” who infiltrated the Socialist Workers Party in 1976-9, and “Jeff Slater,” who spied on the International Socialists in 1974-5.
