MEN’S RUGBY UNION: South Africa effectively wrapped up the Rugby Championship title after again coming from behind to beat New Zealand 18-12 in Cape Town on Saturday. The Springboks have now beaten the All Blacks in their last four meetings. In Santa Fe Argentina kept their slim hopes of winning the tournament alive after storming back from a 17-point deficit to score nine tries and condemn Australia to a record breaking 67-27 defeat.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: Ireland return to Stormont tomorrow for the second leg of their three-match one-day series against England. The English gained a four-wicket win in Saturday’s first game after captain Kate Cross took a career best 6-30 to restrict the Irish to 210 all out. England reached their target with more than 15 overs to spare thanks to an unbeaten 44 from Hollie Armitage and 36 not out from Cross.

MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Marc-Olivier Vallerand netted a power-play goal with just 17 seconds left in over-time to earn the Sheffield Steelers a surprise 3-2 at Sweden’s Vaxjo Lakers in the Champions Hockey League on Saturday. The Steelers are on home ice against Sparta Prague in their next fixture before hosting Swedish outfit Skelleftea on Sunday. Sparta Prague thumped Hungary’s Fehervar 5-1 in their last match.
