WOMEN’S CYCLING: 18-year-old Cat Ferguson won Britain’s first gold at this years Road World Championships in Zurich after claiming the junior time trial on Tuesday.
Ferguson completed the 19 kilometre course in under 24 minutes, averaging 47.34 kilometres per hour, to beat Slovakia’s Viktoria Chladonova by 34 seconds. Fellow Briton Imogen Wolff took the bronze medal, finishing just two seconds behind Chladonova.
