MEN’S BASKETBALL: Ante Zizic top-scored with 17 points as Besiktas Istanbul brushed aside London Lions 99-73 in Tuesday night’s second round of EuroCup matches.

Amin Adamu hit 14 points for the Lions, who have now lost both of their opening games after returning to the competition following a one-year hiatus due to financial problems.

Besiktas had lost out 85-79 at Lithuania’s Panevezys in their first match.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Australian international Reagan Campbell-Gillard has signed for the London Broncos despite the club finishing fourth bottom of this season’s Championship.

The former Gold Coast Titans, Parramatta and Penrith prop made 245 appearances in the NRL, represented New South Wales three times in State of Origin matches, won nine caps for Australia and was a member of the 2017 World Cup-winning team.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Scotland’s World Cup Group C qualifying match against Greece at Hampden Park tomorrow evening comes just six months after they lost 3-1 to the same opponents in the Nations League play-offs.

The Scots are currently joint top of the group with Denmark, one point ahead of Greece.

Thursday night’s other fixture sees Belarus, who have lost both of their opening games, play their “home” game against Denmark in Hungary.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Saracen’s flanker Nathan Michelow, who was sent off after only two minutes of their opening English Premiership game with Newcastle, will have to wait another three matches to continue his season after receiving a four-game ban for a tip-tackle on George McGuigan.

The former England under-20s player was the first Premiership player to ever receive a so-called “20 minute red card” for the offence.
