MEN’S BOXING: Arizona-born David Benavidez defends his WBC light heavyweight crown against Hackney’s Anthony Yarde in Riyadh on Saturday night. Benavidez is unbeaten in 30 professional bouts while Yarde has lost three times in 27 fights and is making his third attempt at a world title. The undercard includes Briton Sam Noakes taking on Abdullah Mason for his WBO lightweight belt and WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman junior up against Devin Haney.

CYCLING: There will not be an Israel Premier-Tech team in next year’s World Tour pelotons after it was announced that the toxic brand has been replaced by Swiss-based NSN Cycling. The new squad will be jointly sponsored by Stoneweg investments and the Never Say Never sport and entertainment marketing company. Eritrean cyclist Biniam Girmay, 2024’s Tour de France green jersey winner, is expected to be their first major signing.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Only Sheffield and Newcastle remain unbeaten after the first two rounds of Super League action. Newcastle face London tomorrow evening before Sheffield are in East Kilbride to face Caledonia on Sunday afternoon. The weekend’s other fixtures pitch defending champions Oaklands up against a Nottingham Wildcats team still searching for their first point, Cardiff Met host Essex Rebels and Leicester are at Manchester.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: It’s first against second in the Lowland League on Saturday when fan-owned table-toppers Clydebank welcome Linlithgow Rose to Holm Park. Third and fourth also clash as Broxburn Athletic travel to form-team Bonnyrigg while at the other end of the table basement club East Stirlingshire host Civil Service Strollers, who have lost their last four games, and second bottom Gretna are at Berwick Rangers.
