MEN’S FOOTBALL: Nigeria will face the DR Congo in Sunday’s African World Cup qualifying play-off final after Victor Osimhen scored twice in extra time as they beat Gabon 4-1 on Thursday night.
DR Congo edged out Cameroon 1-0 thanks to Chancel Mbemba’s stoppage-time winner with both matches played in Rabat, Morocco.
The winners of the play-off final will progress to March’s six-team intercontinental qualifying tournament.

MEN’S CRICKET: Former England head coach Peter Moores has taken charge of the Trent Rockets men’s side.
Moores served as assistant to another former England coach Andy Flower as the Trent Bridge-based Rockets reached the final of The Hundred in the summer.
Flower joined London Spirit last month and Moores, who oversaw Nottinghamshire’s triumph in the County Championship this year, will step up to replace the former Zimbabwe captain.
