MEN’S FOOTBALL: England’s U21s continue their Euro 2027 qualifying campaign when they face Ireland in Birmingham tomorrow evening. The defending champions have a hundred per cent record and are yet to concede a goal in their opening three Group D games but sit only two points above the Irish, who are also unbeaten. Wales will be looking to kickstart their faltering start when they visit Belarus in a Group I fixture.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Recent signing Joel Scott top-scored with 18 points as London Lions improved their EuroCup play-off hopes with a thumping 97-72 home win over Athens on Wednesday evening. Istanbul’s Bahcesehir College won 86-76 at Aris Thessaloniki to remain Group A leaders while Bourg-en-Bresse romped to a 96-64 victory at Ulm to stay top of Group B. Hamburg are still the only team without a win after going down 92-81 at Wroclaw.

MEN’S CRICKET: World test cricket champions South Africa are up against India when the first leg of their two-match series starts in Kolkata tomorrow. The South Africans are currently ranked as the world’s third best test team, one place above India. Australia, who begin the Ashes series next Friday, lead the rankings and sit top of the Test Championship having won all three of their matches against the West Indies back in July.

MEN’S CYCLING: British cycling took another hit on Wednesday when Scott Redding Cycling, the country’s top-ranked elite team, announced that it will not race next season due to a lack of sponsorship. The squad dominated domestic road racing in 2025 winning both the National Road Series team and individual titles while Alex Beldon was the highest placed non-professional at this year’s National Championship road race.
