WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Mary Earps returns to Old Trafford tomorrow evening as winless Paris St Germain face a Manchester United team that has yet to drop a point. Tonight’s other third round league phase matches see three-time winners and last season’s runners up Barcelona taking on Belgium’s OH Leuven, Juventus at Atletico Madrid, Benfica up against Twente Enschede and defending champions Arsenal visiting Bayern Munich.

NFL: DeVonta Smith hauled in the Philadelphia Eagles’ only touchdown in their 10-7 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. In a defensive struggle, both sides were locked in the first nil-all half-time tie of the season before the Eagles finally broke through in the fourth quarter. Green Bay cut the deficit to 10-7 with a six-yard touchdown run from Josh Jacobs, but Brandon McManus’s 64-yard field-goal attempt fell several yards short as time expired.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Cade Cunningham netted a whopping 46 points as Detroit Pistons needed overtime to keep hold of the NBA’s Eastern Conference top spot with a 137-135 win over bottom of the pile Washington Wizards early on Tuesday morning. Among the other fixtures San Antonio won 121-117 in Chicago, LA Lakers saw off Charlotte 121-111, Milwaukee edged Dallas 116-114 and Cleveland Cavaliers went down 138-140 in overtime to Miami Heat.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: Two of the teams that lost their first Big Bash League matches meet at the Allan Border field tomorrow when Brisbane Heat host the Perth Scorchers. The Scorchers’ two English players, Freya Kemp and Paige Schofield, both featured in their opening 10-wicket trouncing by the Sydney Sixers, while Brisbane suffered a seven wicket (DLS method) defeat to the defending champions, Melbourne Renegades.
