MEN’S CRICKET: Paceman Nahid Rana took 5-40 as Bangladesh claimed their first-ever home Test victory over Pakistan on Monday in Mirpur.

Chasing 268 to win, Pakistan were never in the hunt after losing Imam-ul-Haq to the third ball of their second innings and struggled to 163 all out, with Abdullah Fazal top-scoring with 66. Bangladesh go into Saturday’s second match having now won the last three Tests against their near-neighbours.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Six former members of Georgia’s national team have been banned from all professional sporting activity for their involvement in providing false drug test samples.

Merab Sharikadze, who had previously captained the team, received the harshest 11-year ban.

He had provided “clean” urine samples for team-mates who claim they had been using non-performance-enhancing drugs such as cannabis and tramadol.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Victor Wembanyama top-scored with 27 points as San Antonio beat Minnesota 126-97 today to take a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven Western Conference semi-final.

The winners will face defending NBA champions Oklahoma City in the Conference Finals after they thumped the LA Lakers 4-0.

In the Eastern Conference semi-final, New York Knicks will be up against either Detroit or Cleveland, who are level at 2-2 before today’s match.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Bottom club Huddersfield host second-placed St Helens as the latest round of Super League fixtures kick off on Thursday evening.

The Saints were on a five-match winning run before crashing to a 32-0 defeat at home to Wigan in Saturday’s Challenge Cup semi-final.

Huddersfield have won just two of their 10 league games. Table-topping Leeds, who lead St Helens on points difference, are at Wigan tomorrow night.
