Rochdale's Tobi Adebayo-Rowling celebrates with fans following victory in a penalty shootout after extra time in the National League Final at Wembley Stadium, London, May 10, 2026

WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE: Challenge Cup holders and five-time winners Halifax Panthers cruised to a 64-30 victory over last season’s runners-up London Roosters in Sunday’s semi-final.

The Panthers will face Leeds in July’s final after the Rhinos earned a 36-16 win at Wigan in their last four clash. Leeds have appeared in a record six finals, last lifting the trophy in 2022 when they beat Catalans Dragons.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: England take a 1-0 lead in Wednesday’s second ODI of the three-match 50-over series with New Zealand after edging to a one-wicket win at Chester-le-Street on Sunday.

Chasing the Kiwis’ modest target of 210 all out, the English were struggling at 42-3 before Maia Bouchier top-scored with 59.

They were steered home with 10 balls to spare by stand-in captain Charlie Dean’s unbeaten 31 and debutant Tilly Corteen-Coleman.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Rochdale are back in the English Football League, just three seasons after they crashed out, after beating Boreham Wood on penalties in Sunday’s National League play-off final at Wembley.

Rochdale needed Emmanuel Dieseruvwe’s stoppage time equaliser to level the score at 2-2 and take the match into extra time. They had finished 16 points ahead of Boreham Wood during the regular season.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Harri Doel scored two second-half tries as Llandovery claimed their third Super Rygbi Cymru title in four years with a 27-10 win at Ebbw Vale in Sunday’s play-off final.

It’s the second successive year that Ebbw Vale have finished as runners-up after they lost out to Newport last season. The last try of the game was touched down by Llandovery scrum half Lee Davis, who retires after 402 games for the club.
