MEN’S CYCLING: Saturday’s startlist for the Milan-San Remo race includes Tadej Pogacar, last year’s winner Mathieu van der Poel, Tom Pidcock, and 2022’s champion Matej Mohoric. Known as the Spring Classic it’s the longest one-day event in men’s professional cycling, with the peloton facing almost 300 kilometres in the saddle from this year’s start in Pavia, just south of Milan, to the traditional finish on Via Roma in San Remo.

MEN’S CRICKET: Scotland beat the United Arab Emirates by 32 runs in Friday morning’s low scoring game in Dubai to win their three match Twenty20 series 2-1.

After losing the toss and being put into bat the Scots crumbled to 94 all out with Aayan Khan taking 3-14.

In reply the UAE’s top three all scored ducks as they collapsed to 19-7, with Brad Currie claiming 3-7, before ending up on 62 with almost five overs remaining.

WOMEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: The Challenge Cup qualifying stages kick off at midday on Saturday with Huddersfield facing Hull KR in Group 4 before current holders St Helens take on the London Broncos at Langtree Park in Group 3.

Bradford host Warrington and Cardiff meet Barrow in tomorrow afternoon’s other ties.

Last year’s runners-up Leeds are up against Leigh, Sheffield host York and Salford play Wigan on Sunday.

DARTS: World champion Luke Humphries won a second consecutive Premier League of darts tournament after beating Nathan Aspinall in Thursday night’s final in Nottingham.

Humphries now tops the points table after Michael van Gerwen lost to Luke Littler in the first round while Peter Wright beat Gerwyn Price 6-5 for his first win of this year’s campaign.

Round eight of the 17 week tournament takes place in Dublin next week.
