WOMEN’S RUGBY UNION: Champions Gloucester-Hartpury maintained their unbeaten record after coming from behind to see off Loughborough 42-24 but Saracens, who have played a game more, still top the Women’s Premiership and recorded their sixth win in a row, scoring 11 tries to thrash Sale 69-3. Second-placed Exeter beat Ealing 38-19 while bottom-of-the-table Leicester went down 33-24 to Harlequins and remain winless.

CYCLING: Mathieu van der Poel claimed his tenth successive Cyclocross victory after racing home at the UCI World Cup event in Zonhoven, Belgium on Sunday. Joris Nieuwenhuis was second with Laurens Sweek third. Puck Pieterse took the women’s race, her fourth win a row, after Lucinda Brand had crashed while leading. Inge Van der Heijden finished second with 19-year-old Welsh cyclist Zoe Backstedt in third.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: India meet Australia in Mumbai tomorrow for the deciding leg of their three-match Twenty20 series after the Aussies won the second match by six wickets on Sunday. Chasing India’s total of 130-8 Ellyse Perry, playing her 300th international match, clubbed an unbeaten 34 from just 21 balls to steer the Southern Stars home with an over to spare.
