MEN’S CRICKET: All-rounder Shadab Khan is back in Pakistan’s squad for the first leg of their three match Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka that begins in Dambulla tomorrow. The tourists will however be without Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali who are all playing in Australia’s Big Bash League. Pakistan are currently ranked as the world’s seventh best short format team, one place above Sri Lanka.
DARTS: Losing World Championship semi finalist Ryan Searle is not included in the upcoming Premier League of Darts tournament but Josh Rock and World Championship runner up Gian van Veen will both make their debuts in the 16 week long event. Joining them in the eight man competition will be holder Luke Littler, world number two Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Stephen Bunting, Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price.
MEN’S BASKETBALL: Defending champions and runaway NBA leaders Oklahoma City lost their sixth and seventh games of the season in just two days after Devin Booker scored in the last second to seal a 108-105 victory for the Phoenix Suns and Charlotte Hornets soared to a shock 124-97 win on Tuesday morning. The Suns, who are on the verge of the play-off places, followed up their win with a 100-97 loss at Houston Rockets.
MEN’S FOOTBALL: Barcelona meet Athletic Bilbao in Jeddah’s King Abdullah stadium tonight for the Spanish Super Cup’s first semi final. Barca have won their last eight games in all competitions, are the current holders of the Super Cup and have picked up the trophy a record fifteen times. Real Madrid face Atletico Madrid in Thursday’s other last four clash, also in Jeddah, with the final taking place on Sunday.
