MEN’S CRICKET: Scotland will play in next month’s Twenty20 World Cup after the ICC refused Bangladesh’s request to move their games from India to co-hosts Sri Lanka due to security concerns. 

The Scots will face the West Indies in their first Group C game in Kolkata before taking on England, Italy and Nepal. 

Scotland only failed to qualify for the Super 8s on net run rate behind England at the 2024 finals.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Glasgow moved three points clear in the United Rugby Championship after edging to a 26-21 win at bottom club Zebre while former leaders Cape Town lost 19-30 at home to Durban. 

Leinster won 34-23 in Connacht, Ellis Mee’s last-minute try helped struggling Scarlets beat Ulster 27-22, Ospreys drew 24-24 with Johannesburg, Munster squeezed past Dragons 24-22, Cardiff saw off Treviso 17-8 and Pretoria won 19-17 in Edinburgh.

MEN’S BOXING: California’s Raymond Muratalla retained his IBF lightweight title against Cuba’s 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medallist Andy Cruz on a majority points decision in Las Vegas this morning. 

Muratalla improved his unbeaten record to 24 fights, while three-time amateur world champion Cruz suffered a first loss in only his seventh professional bout. 

On the undercard, Khalil Coe narrowly beat Jesse Hart on points to become US light-heavyweight champion.
