MEN’S FOOTBALL: Champions League knockout round play-offs continue tomorrow evening with four more places up for grabs in the last 16. Real Madrid hold a 1-0 advantage over Benfica before their game at Bernabeu, Galatasary are defending their incredible 5-2 first leg win over Juventus when they visit Turin, Paris St Germain are 3-2 up on Monaco and Borussia Dortmund take a 2-0 lead to Atalanta. 

HORSE RACING: The New Zealand born, Hong Kong-trained thoroughbred Ka Ying Rising is now ranked as the world’s best horse after breaking the 7 furlong course record at Sha Tin on his way to winning an eighteenth successive race. He has only failed to win twice in 21 starts, finishing second both times, and has been ridden by Zac Purton on all but one occasion. His career earnings total approximately £13 million.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Tottenham needed extra time and penalties to beat London City on Monday night and set up an FA Cup quarter-final tie at holders Chelsea. The other last eight matches will see 14-time winners Arsenal host Brighton, League Two table-toppers Charlton up against Liverpool and Manchester City at Birmingham. All winners receive £90,000 in prize money, losers just £22,000. The winners of the men’s quarter-finals receive £477,000.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: NBA Eastern Conference league leaders Detroit Pistons suffered a 103-114 home defeat to San Antonio this morning while Russell Westbrook top-scored with 25 points as the competition’s bottom club Sacramento ended their 17-game losing streak with a 123-114 win at Memphis. Jabari Smith netted 31 points as Houston maintained their claim on a play-off spot with a 125-105 victory over struggling Utah.
