MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Fife Flyers forward Garet Hunt added yet another blemish to his disciplinary record after receiving a fine and two-game suspension on Wednesday.
This latest sanction was for an “illegal and avoidable direct hit” to the head of an opponent, driving it into the boards, during Fife’s 5-2 defeat in their bottom-of-the-table clash at Dundee.
Hunt was fined for slashing in November and suspended for a sucker punch in December.
MEN’S RUGBY UNION: The Under-20s Six Nations tournament continues tomorrow evening with Wales seeking their first win when they host Scotland at the Cardiff Arms Park and unbeaten England taking on Ireland in Bath.
Defending champions France top the table by a point from the English.
The French are also defending a 100 per cent record in Lille on Saturday evening when they face an Italian team that has lost both its opening games.
HORSE RACING: 2023’s Champion Hurdle winner Constitution Hill makes his debut on the flat tomorrow evening in a one-and-a-half-mile novice stakes at Southwell.
The nine-year-old gelding won his first 10 races, claimed eight grade one national hunt victories, winning over £875,000 in prize money, but did not defend the Champion Hurdle due to illness and has fallen in three of his last four races.
MEN’S FOOTBALL: Shamrock Rovers begin the delayed defence of their League of Ireland title with tonight’s Dublin Southside derby against St Patrick’s.
Drogheda, the only team with an unbeaten record after just two games, are at newly promoted Dundalk and last year’s runners-up Derry take on Bohemians.
Tomorrow evening’s other games see pointless Sligo Rovers travel to Waterford and Shelbourne up against Galway.
