MEN’S BASKETBALL: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander top scored with 39 points as Oklahoma City preserved the NBA’s best record with a 140-129 win over Atlanta this morning.

San Antonio Spurs ended their good run with a 113-101 home defeat against Cleveland, while the high-flying New York Knicks produced a dominant fourth-quarter to beat New Orleans 130-125.

The competition’s bottom club Indiana Pacers lost again, 126-119 at Houston.

HORSE RACING: Paul Townend steered the Willie Mullins-trained Lossiemouth to victory in the last Group One race of the year after claiming Monday’s December Hurdle at Leopardstown by a length from Brighterdaysahead.

Casheldale Lad finished a further five-and-a-half lengths back in third. Lossiemouth has won from 13 of her 16 career starts, including nine Grade One races, with prize money in excess of £800,000.

AMERICAN FOOTBALL: Lowly Atlanta Falcons needed a last-minute field goal from Zane Gonzalez to edge out the Los Angeles Rams 27-24 on Tuesday morning.

Falcons running back Bijan Robinson made a career high 229 yards and scored two touchdowns as Atlanta notched up only their seventh win of the season.

Los Angeles remain third in the highly competitive NFC West league but are assured of a place in January’s play-offs.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: The top two meet in the Cymru Premier tomorrow afternoon when defending champions The New Saints take their seven-point lead to a Connah’s Quay team that are unbeaten in eleven games, winning their last six.

Elsewhere, today, Bala are up against Caernarfon and Briton Ferry Llansawel host in-form Barry Town.

Colwyn Bay take on Flint Town on Thursday, before bottom club Llanelli face Penybont.
