MEN’S FOOTBALL: League of Ireland champions Shamrock Rovers are in Pristina, Kosovo, tomorrow evening to face Ballkani in the first leg of their Conference League third qualifying round tie. Compatriots Linfield are on the Faroes to take on Vikingur Goto while Larne host the Azores-based Santa Clara and Dublin’s St Patrick’s are up against Turkish giants Besiktas. Dundee United meet Rapid Vienna and Hibs begin their campaign at Partisan Belgrade.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: Ireland’s 18-year-old left-arm spinner Aimee Maguire has been reinstated into international cricket by the ICC following her ban for an illegal bowling action in February. Maguire has already played 20 times for the Irish in one-day and Twenty20 matches but was forced to miss this year’s Under 19s Twenty20 World Cup due to her suspension and is not in the current squad for their series against Pakistan.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: New signing Chris Hankinson, who joined Leeds from Salford earlier this week, goes straight into their squad for tonight’s Super League match at third-placed Leigh. Leeds went down to a last-play 15-14 defeat at Wakefield Trinity in their last outing whereas Leigh are on a four match unbeaten run that has seen them brush aside both table-topping Hull KR and defending champions Wigan.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Sheffield FC will welcome Bootle to their Home of Football ground in the FA Cup preliminary round after they survived an added time penalty to edge a 3-2 win in Wednesday evening’s extra preliminary round replay at Albion Sports. West Auckland, who won the first ever version of the Club World Cup in 1909, will face Bridlington Town in the next round after they needed extra time to see off Knaresborough 2-1.
