Bohemians moved up to second place with a 2-0 win over ten-man Sligo, UCD properly thumped Waterford 4-1 and bottom club Finn Harps remain without a win after having Colm Deasy sent off in the 37th minute of their 3-2 defeat to Derry.
NORHTEN IRELAND: Linfield need just one point from their last four games to claim the Premiership title after Andrew Waterworth’s well-taken 46th minute strike sealed a 1-0 win at Ballymena. Reigning champions Crusaders lost 2-1 at Glenavon, Cliftonville beat Coleraine 4-2, Glentoran edged out Dungannon 2-1 and Institute beat Warrenpoint by the same score. Newry moved off the bottom with a 3-0 win over Ards.
SCOTLAND: Jamie Lindsay’s last minute equaliser helped table topping Ross County to a 1-1 draw against second-placed Dundee United and maintained their five point lead in the Scottish Championship. Inverness climbed into third after winning 1-0 in Ayr, Dunfermline drew 2-2 at Partick Thistle, Alloa breathed life into their relegation battle with a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Falkirk and Queen of the South’s game with Greenock Morton ended 1-1.
WALES: Goal crazy TNS pulled seven points clear in the Welsh Premier League after following up their midweek 7-0 mauling of Bala with a 6-0 rout at Newtown. While second-placed Connah’s Quay were losing 1-0 in Caernarfon, Barry Town came from two down to beat hapless Bala 5-2 and Cefn Druids saw off Cardiff Met 3-1. Llandudno were relegated by a 2-0 defeat in Carmarthen and Llanelli are also down following their 3-2 loss at Aberystwyth.
