MEN’S CRICKET: Sussex beat Warwickshire by five wickets to retain the only 100 per cent record in County Championship Division One after only two games.

They currently sit third, four points behind league leaders Somerset, after they were deducted 12 points for “sustained operating losses” last season.

Yorkshire are bottom of the table, two points below Glamorgan, following their heavy 234-run loss against Hampshire at Headingley.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: The NBA’s end-of-season play-offs tip off tomorrow morning with Miami Heat at Charlotte Hornets and Portland Trail Blazers visiting Phoenix Suns for the opening qualifiers in each conference.

Defending champions Oklahoma City sealed top spot in the West but last year’s runners-up Indiana finished an awful season with the competition’s second-worst record.

Detroit topped the Eastern conference ahead of Boston.

SPEEDWAY: Australian Ben Cook top-scored with 14+1 points but his King’s Lynn Stars team were handed a narrow 47-43 defeat by visitors Ipswich Witches in Monday’s second leg of their Knockout Cup fixture.

Tom Brennan led the way with 12+1 points for the Witches, who led from the first tape to take a 97-83 aggregate win.

Ipswich will face Premiership new boys Northampton next week for a place in the final.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Wigan’s Harry Smith and Sam Walters have both been banned for three games and will miss their Magic Weekend fixture against St Helens following a review of incidents during their 26-22 Challenge Cup quarter-final win at Wakefield.

Hooker Brad O’Neill will be available though after being found not guilty of spitting at an opponent in their 34-24 loss at St Helens on Good Friday.
