MEN’S FOOTBALL: Europa League action returns tomorrow evening with its quarter-final first-legs ties.
Last year’s Europa Conference League winners West Ham are at Bundesliga champions-elect Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool host Atalanta, Benfica take on Marseille and AC Milan meet Roma.
Liverpool are the only team in the last eight to have won the trophy before, although Leverkusen did pick up its predecessor, the Uefa Cup, in 1988.
SPEEDWAY: If the rain holds off there will be a full programme of Premiership fixtures tomorrow evening with league new-boys Oxford, who have a maximum seven points from their first three matches, racing against second-placed Ipswich.
Both teams will be at full strength with Maciej Janowski set to return for Oxford. Elsewhere tonight champions Sheffield visit Leicester and King’s Lynn look forwards to their first home meeting when they take on Belle Vue.
MEN’S FOOTBALL: The Group Stages in the Copa Libertadores, South America’s equivalent to the Champions League, continue early tomorrow morning with Brazil’s Sao Paulo taking on Cobresal from Chile before Ecuador’s Barcelona SC kick-off against Group B table-toppers Talleres de Cordoba from Argentina.
Brazilian reigning champions Fluminense could only manage a 1-1 draw against Peru’s Club Alianza Lima in their first Group A match.
MEN’S BASKETBALL: TJ Shorts top-scored with just 15 points as Paris overcame Bourg-en-Bresse 77-64 in Tuesday’s first leg of their EuroCup final. The second leg takes place on Friday night.
Despite being knocked out in the semi-finals, London’s Gabe Olaseni and Matt Morgan have been included in the competition’s all-star team.
They were joined by TJ Shorts, the highest-rated player, Isiaha Mike from Bourg-en-Bresse and Ulm’s Trevion Williams.
