MEN’S FOOTBALL: The group stages of the Copa Libertadores, South America’s equivalent to the Champions League, conclude tomorrow with Brazilians Gremio taking on Uruguay’s Estudiantes.

Gremio are already through to the next round and will face either defending champions Fluminense or Uruguay’s Penarol in the last 16.

Seven Brazilian teams, three Argentinian, two from Uruguay and Bolivia and one each from Chile and Colombia are left in the tournament.

SPEEDWAY: Fredrik Lindgren scored 12 points on debut for Birmingham but couldn’t prevent them from crashing out of the Premiership Knock-Out Cup.

The Brummies slumped to a 51-39 defeat, 97-83 on aggregate, at Ipswich in the second leg of their semi-final.

Nicolai Klindt top-scored with 13 as the Premiership’s bottom club King’s Lynn gained a surprise 50-40 victory over Sheffield in the first leg of the other semi-final.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Kristap Porzingis scored 20 points on his return after a month out injured as Boston Celtics swept aside Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in the first leg of the NBA Grand Finals on Friday morning.

He also added six rebounds and three blocks in just 21 minutes of action. Luka Doncic top-scored for the Mavericks with 30 points.

The second game of the seven-match series starts in Boston on Monday morning.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Ex-England forward Courtney Lawes will make his 283rd and last appearance for Northampton tomorrow when they take on Bath in the Premiership Grand Final at Twickenham.

Only points difference separated the teams during the regular season as Northampton, who last won the Grand Final in 2014, claimed the title.

Bath have never won a Grand Final but claimed the championship six times in eight years between 1989-96.
