Great Britain’s women clinch world rugby sevens title in Canada
Jasmine Joyce

GREAT BRITAIN women’s team claimed the world rugby sevens title on Sunday after back-to-back Fast Four final wins in Canada.

In the four-team women’s tournament, Britain defeated the United States 22-5, and Canada beat Mexico 63-5 to take third place.

Significant cuts were made to British sevens programmes last year, creating bleak prospects in terms of top-level ambitions.
