ANY attempt by rail bosses to force compulsory redundancies on workers would be seen as “an act of war” and trigger strike ballots across the industry, transport union TSSA warned yesterday.

An agreement to avoid compulsory redundancies, secured by unions in talks with employers and the government through the Rail Industry Recovery Group forum, has been in place this year as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to cause disruption.
