PEACE campaigners were targeted by London’s Metropolitan Police for a second time on claims of a conspiracy to commit a criminal act.
The Westminster Quaker Meeting House was raided on Thursday and 15 supporters of Take Back Power were arrested and taken to Brixton and Walworth police stations.
The campaign group advocating for a wealth tax had hired the venue for non-violent direct action training.
One young man suffered a panic attack and was tended to by a paramedic.
The building faced a similar raid in March 2025, targeting a meeting by campaign group Youth Demand.
Oliver Robertson of Quakers in Britain said: “For Quakers, faith and action are inseparable.
“Peaceful protest, prayer and non-violent action are integral parts of many Quakers’ religious life.
“While we take the planning of criminal acts very seriously, we believe that this incident is a deliberate targeting of committed young people who want to make our country a more equitable place.
Mr Robertson said the raids are a “systemic stifling of dissent” and “illuminate the broader trend in the UK of cracking down on those who disagree with the government.”
