THE MAN accused of sending the so-called Punish a Muslim Day letters appeared in court today.

David Parnham is charged with one count of soliciting to murder, one count of making a bomb hoax and two counts of encouraging the commission of offences by sending a number of the letters.

He also faces five counts of sending a hoax noxious substance and five counts of sending a number of letters conveying a threatening message.

The 35-year-old was arrested on Tuesday by counter-terrorism officers in Lincoln as part of an intelligence operation.

A residential property and office building in Lincoln city centre were searched.

Mr Parnham, of St Andrews Close, Lincoln, entered no plea to any of the 14 charges laid against him.

He was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on June 29.
