Orkney Vigil for Palestine

CAMPAIGNERS in Kirkwall come together in front of the Cathedral for an hour every Saturday to denounce the criminal invasion and genocide in Palestine.

The vigil has been held every week since Israel’s attack began and it draws support from across the community, with visitors and tourists joining in.

The core of support comes from the very active Orkney Friends of Palestine (OFOP) and the local Amnesty International group, but attendance is wide and varied.

OFOP member David Drever said: “This most recent Saturday heard of support from Wells, Somerset and Inverness with American and Dutch tourists applauding — the vigil will continue calling out Israel’s murderous onslaught until it ends.”
