Protesters take to Aberdeen's streets to protest against the US's far-right president's trip

A RECORD 100,000 people joined London Trans Pride on Saturday, making it the largest Trans Pride event in history, organisers said.
The march, now in its sixth year, began at 1pm near BBC Broadcasting House and concluded at Parliament Square Gardens, where speeches were delivered by Heartstopper actress Yasmin Finney and trans rights campaigner Caroline Litman.
Ms Litman’s trans-daughter Alice committed suicide in 2022 after waiting nearly three years for treatment.
Lewis G Burton, one of the founders of the event, said: “This year’s London Trans+ Pride made history once again, with over 100,000 trans-plus people and allies marching through central London — smashing our own world record of 60,000 and continuing our legacy as the biggest trans-plus pride event in history.
“At a time when the Supreme Court is making sweeping decisions about trans people … our community came together to show what real strength, solidarity and care looks like.”
The event was the first since the Supreme Court ruling in April, when judges said the words “woman” and “sex” in the Equality Act refer to a biological woman and biological sex.
