At least 236 Palestinians killed by the Israelis since ceasefire
Bodies of unidentified Palestinians returned from Israel as part of the ceasefire deal are placed at a warehouse in Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, October 31, 2025

THE death toll in Gaza continued to grow today as Israel maintained its attacks despite a ceasefire agreed on October 10.

Since the ceasefire began, at least 236 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, with around 600 others being wounded.

The Gaza Health Ministry reported on Sunday that three people had been killed and three more bodies were recovered from beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings. Another person died at a hospital from wounds sustained during the Israeli attacks.

Eyewitnesses reported attacks by Israeli fighter jets on Saturday, as well as artillery and tank shelling targeting Khan Younis in south Gaza. The Israeli army also reportedly demolished residential buildings east of the Jabalia refugee camp, in the north of the enclave.

The Israelis claim the attacks are being carried out because Hamas has violated the ceasefire agreement by not returning all the bodies of deceased Israeli hostages captured on October 7 2023.

Hamas says efforts to retrieve the bodies have been hampered by the widespread destruction in Gaza, as well as by Israeli restrictions on entry of heavy machinery and bulldozers needed to carry out the search.

Meanwhile Palestinians are still not receiving desperately needed aid promised in the truce agreement.

Authorities in Gaza have accused Israel of only allowing in only a fraction of what was agreed.

Gaza’s Government Media Office said on Saturday that 3,203 commercial and aid trucks brought supplies into Gaza between October 10 and 31.

The average of 145 aid trucks per day is just 24 per cent of the 600 trucks which are meant to be entering Gaza daily under the deal reached between Israel and Hamas.

In a statement the Gaza Media Office said: “We strongly condemn the Israeli occupation’s obstruction of aid and commercial trucks and hold it fully responsible for the worsening and deteriorating humanitarian situation faced by more than 2.4 million people in the Gaza Strip.”

The statement also called on United States President Donald Trump and other mediators to demand the Israelis live up to their part of the deal and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza “without restrictions and conditions.”

The Israelis have also continued to attack southern Lebanon, straining the fragile ceasefire with Hezbollah that came into force last November.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health said at least four people were killed and three wounded by the Israelis in the town of Kfarsir in the Nabatieh district.
