Iran says sanctions remain its ‘red line’ as nuclear deal talks set to resume in Vienna

IRAN insisted today that the removal of all US sanctions remains its “red line,” ahead of renewed international negotiations on reviving the 2015 nuclear deal.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that Tehran expected all other sides involved in the talks, which reopen on Tuesday in Vienna, to fulfil their commitments to lift the punitive measures.

“The issue of sanctions removal and benefits from the economic dimensions of the JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] is Iran’s red line in the talks,” he told a press conference.
