Indian "We20" meeting stopped by police
INDIAN police stopped a meeting of left-wing activists, academics and politicians discussing global issues ahead of a G20 summit, organisers said yesterday.
Nearly 400 participants spent two days debating the agenda for the summit of the Group of 20, which will bring together industrialised and developing nations in New Delhi next month.
Many of the issues currently affecting much of the world, including food insecurity, climate change, workers’ rights, natural resources and rising inequality, are expected to be on the table.
