Holocaust survivor to speak at national rally for Gaza

HOLOCAUST survivor Stephen Kapos is among the speakers at tomorrow’s national demonstration for Palestine in London.

Mr Kapos is one of the few remaining direct witnesses to the horror of the Nazis and will be joined by Irish MEP Clare Daly and writer Gary Younge. Other speakers will be announced soon.

Along with his son Peter, and several other children of Holocaust survivors, Mr Kapos is a regular figure on the pro-Palestine marches, often part of the ever-growing Jewish bloc.

The protest will again see hundreds of thousands on the streets of central London in solidarity with the Palestinian people demanding a ceasefire and an end to the supply of arms to Israel.

It is the 12th national demonstration and will be assembling in Parliament Square, ending with a rally in Hyde Park for the first time in this cycle of marches.

Stop the War Coalition vice-chairman Chris Nineham said: “As a ground attack by Israeli forces on the Gaza city of Rafah looms, the pro-Palestinian movement has no intention of stopping now, despite renewed attacks on us by the zionist lobby and in the media.

“Those attacks are a product of the fact that we are winning the argument.

“Fifty-eight per cent of people in this country now support an end to arms sales to Israel, with only 18 per cent opposing.

“We are determined to make sure Saturday is another massive display of support for ending the genocide.”

Other protests will also be taking place across Britain.

In Aberystwyth, PeaceAction Wales will be laying out pebbles — one for every child killed in Gaza since October 7 — in a row along the prom.
