Government's plan to raise living standards ‘not very stretching’, think tank warns

CAMPAIGNERS warned today that the government must “smash” the milestones set out in its “plan for change” to truly end stagnation. 

Prime Minister Keir Starmer unveiled six targets on Thursday, which focus on raising living standards and driving improvements in the NHS, pre-school education, housing and green energy.

The Labour government says it will raise real household disposable income by the next election, but speaking to BBC Breakfast today, Sir Keir said he wanted “people to feel better off straight away.”
