Film will show new evidence of state censorship of Gaza
Film director Ken Loach

A FILM revealing new evidence of state censorship of the Palestine genocide will premiere in Bristol this month.

The updated documentary, Censoring Palestine, includes previously unseen footage of police arrests and eyewitness accounts of alleged brutality during protests against the ban on the group Palestine Action.

Producer Norman Thomas said the revised film exposes a major escalation in the government’s attempts to clamp down on demonstrations about the genocide in Gaza.

“The government is trying to outrageously censor the public debate on Gaza, and if they get away with this, they will, I believe, take even more draconian measures,” he said.

“[Our film aims] to alert people to this danger — we must fight for our freedoms or risk losing them.”

The feature-length film from Platform Films includes contributions from Ken Loach, Alexei Sayle, journalist Sarah Wilkinson, who was raided by anti-terrorist police, and relatives of the Filton 24 protesters jailed over actions targeting Israel-owned Elbit Systems.

The film will premiere as part of the Bristol Palestine Film Festival, followed by a panel with human rights barrister Ousman Noor and 83-year-old priest Sue Parfitt.

It will be shown at 2pm at the Arnolfini, with tickets priced £11.50-£6.
