Campaigners demand church buildings be used for social housing

HOUSING campaigners have demanded that unused church buildings be used to tackle the housing shortage in Wales.

According to a report by the Bevan Foundation and Housing Justice Cymru published today, one in every 215 Welsh households are living in temporary accommodation.

The Bevan Foundation has estimated that up to 7,000 homes could be created by redeveloping unused places of worship and releasing faith-owned land holdings.
