Cricketer leaves no stone unturned at Derbyshire after Ashes snub
Bad omens are prophetic for O’s
Leyton Orient 0-1 Macclesfield. By Kadeem Simmonds at Brisbane Road
WHEN it’s not your day, a defeat like this is harder to take. Scott Wilson’s first-half goal gave Macclesfield a 1-0 victory over Leyton Orient on Saturday, with the O’s wondering who walked under a ladder prior to kick-off.
The game was delayed by 20 minutes when strong winds damaged advertising boards in the north stand, forcing fans to move to the east section, leaving supporters and players waiting on a cold and bitter afternoon.
An early injury to Macclesfield goalkeeper Shwan Jalal saw substitute Sam Ramsbottom enter the field and what an afternoon he had. Orient threw everything but the kitchen sink at him but could not find a way past the 21-year-old.
