Thousands of physiotherapists join strikes across austerity-hit NHS
Members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) on the picket line outside London's St Thomas' Hospital as they go on strike for the first time over pay. Picture date: Thursday January 26, 2023.

THOUSANDS of physiotherapists across England became the latest NHS workers to join growing strikes across the austerity-hit health service today.

Members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) at 30 NHS services — one in seven — downed tools for 24 hours.

The walkout, which involved both physios and support staff, follows the Tory government’s 4.75 per cent NHS pay offer for 2022-23 – less than half the current 40-year high double-digit inflation.
