Striking outsourced hospital cleaners and caterers demand ‘pay rise now’

STRIKING outsourced hospital cleaners and caterers shouted “pay rise now” as they staged a demonstration outside ISS offices in Canary Wharf in London today.

The South London & Maudsley NHS Trust (SLaM) staff, who began a four-day strike over pay on Wednesday, are fighting a miserly offer worth 30p.

GMB Southern regional organiser Helen O'Connor said: “Our members are as determined as they are angry.
