Staff at Swansea primary school begin first of 11 days of strike action

STAFF at a Swansea primary school took the first of 11 days of strike action today over “adverse management practices which are affecting teachers’ health and working conditions.”

The walkouts at Gendros primary, which will continue on intermittent dates until June 22, follow a failure of Swansea Council and school governors to “adequately act to address management incompetence,” teaching union NASUWT Cymru charged. 

General secretary Dr Patrick Roach said: “Trust and confidence in the school leadership has completely broken down.
