Places of worship able to register for protection
RELIGIOUS groups can now register for a government scheme to protect places of worship in the wake of the Christchurch mosque massacre.
The Home Office announced yesterday that religious organisations can register for the latest round of its Places of Worship Protective Security Scheme, although applications will not open until July.
Home Secretary Sajid Javid said: “In the coming days and weeks, millions of people from different faiths will be marking religious festivals up and down the UK.
