Labour pledged today to “pull the NHS back from the brink” within its first 100 days in office if it is elected this week to form a government.
It comes after new research of NHS Trust documents revealed that there are hundreds of “extreme” risks to patient and staff safety in hospitals across England.
Analysis of more than 120 Trust board papers shows NHS Trusts are faced with hundreds of risks to patient safety classed as “catastrophic” or “extreme,” with the majority linked to lack of spending, ageing equipment, staffing shortages or the failures of privatisation such as liquidation and legal issues.
